Simple things I've found out after becoming a father.

In the feels

Children make you feel really intense emotions. In particular, your own children make you feel really intense feelings, the kids of other people don't do the same. You can recognize the cry of your own baby. I thought I knew what intense stuff feels like - I've experienced pressure and had strict demands from customers and peers in corporate settings before, but they're not on the same spectrum as the distress of your child.

Wonders

If you child's distress makes you feel intense emotions of 'I must deal with this situation now', then the immense joy a happy toddler brings is just pure bliss. There's literally nothing like the happiness a child can bring into your life.

Cringe

I'm well aware of the fact that every parent thinks their child is something special, and naturally I think that too. Every parent does. It's only natural. I thought that I wouldn't take that many pictures, since I don't take that many pictures in general, but boy, was I wrong.

Time management

Babies do make you better at managing your time. I'm quite efficient by nature and a child made me even more so. Getting shit done has never been so important, as the 'not actively parenting rn' hours of the day are rapidly vaporizing. The parenting and time management challenge has also made me a better person, since I've become more flexible with schedules, as life is chaotic and happens on the go.

Happiness

I've never been as tired as I'm now, but at the same time - the base level of happiness is permanently higher and a general sense of optimism is the prevalent emotion. Life is good!
